Juan José, a mechanic who posts content on TikTok, has issued an important recommendation for all drivers who use the air conditioning in their vehicles. In a video, he explained that if you're one of those who turns off the car while the air conditioning is running, "I don't recommend it." The mechanic points out that, although it may seem silly, doing so can cause long-term damage to the car's system.

The main problem, according to Juan José, lies in the voltage drop that occurs when the vehicle is turned off. "The car doesn't understand when it's stopping; simply, when you cut the power, the car stops," he explains. This voltage drop affects the operation of the air conditioning, which is not in the correct stop position, which can affect the compressor and the auxiliary belt, which continue to have inertia after the engine is turned off.

Furthermore, Juan José recommends, as with the clutch, giving the system time to properly deactivate before turning off the car. In some vehicles, when the engine is turned off, the fan that cools the air conditioning condenser also stops, preventing proper cooling of the system. Although there won't be immediate damage, the mechanic maintains that "the sum of small details" in car care can extend its useful life.

Finally, Juan José assures that, although it is not a serious fault, avoiding these types of practices will help reduce breakdowns and ensure that the car lasts for more years and kilometers without problems.
